Playtech — long famous in European markets for its gambling offerings — is bringing its highly popular game show to the US.
Adventures Beyond Wonderland first launched in 2021 in various legal markets overseas. Now, it’s coming to New Jersey from a dedicated studio in the Garden State.
Playtech has not confirmed a launch date yet. It also has not announced which NJ online casinos will carry the game at launch.
Adventures Beyond Wonderland for NJ online casinos: How it works
Adventures Beyond Wonderland is a live casino game based on the classic Alice In Wonderland books by Lewis Carroll. Playtech Live first brought the concept to legal markets two years ago.
The game features live dealers dressed in character, meant to emulate the weird and wacky world of Wonderland. Dealers “take charge” of the main game and bonus rounds, according to the announcement, creating a “unique theme park experience for players in a revolving studio and augmented reality with real-time elements allowing interaction with both the game and the hosts.”
Dealers, typically dressed in flamboyant outfits and often sporting top hats, run the game from an elaborate set with a huge wheel in the center. The wheel has 54 segments:
- 22 ones
- 15 twos
- 5 fives
- 4 tens
- 3 Wonderspins (2 spins)
- 1 Wonderspinds (5 spins)
- 2 Magic Dice
- 2 Mystery Bonus
Players can bet on any of the numbers and/or bonus rounds before a spin and hope the wheel lands on one of those spaces. Each bonus has its own unique mechanics. The Magic Dice game takes place in a tea-party setting.
The game runs 24/7, so players can enjoy it at any time.
Live game show format on the rise
This “game show” format is becoming more popular at US online casinos after enjoying a few years of strong performance in the UK and other European markets.
