The recent completion of a 25,000 square-foot Asian gaming area at Borgata Atlantic City has been nothing short of strong success. The casino finished the upgrades of the new space back in May.
Borgata Atlantic City is one of MGM Resort International‘s flagship locations. The area includes 51 table games, five private gaming salons and a dedicated Asian gaming space. There is also a high-limit gaming area and private bar.
President and CEO of MGM Resorts International, Bill Hornbuckle, noted on a Q2 2025 earnings call last week the success of the dedicated space, which has already generated a significant amount of revenue.
“The customer response to thoughtful targeted capital spending has been encouraging, driving double-digit GGR growth and outperforming the market by a wide margin since its debut.”
Borgata’s new upscale vibe
Borgata hinted at major changes to the gaming floor last September, which finally came to fruition right before the summer started in May.
The Asian gaming space is an upscale compliment to the property. The private bar includes the rarest liquors from around the world, including Shibui 23 and Yamazaki 18. Borgata also employs multilingual hosts who speak Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese), Vietnamese and Korean.
The property also brought a flair of Las Vegas into Atlantic City, introducing Noodles, a staple at MGM’s resort at the Bellagio. Niklas Rytterstrom, President and COO of Borgata, talked about the most significant gaming refresh in Borgata’s history.
“With these best-in-class offerings and amenities, we are once again redefining the pinnacle of high-end gaming in Atlantic City.
“Every detail of the experience has been thoughtfully curated to ensure our guests feel welcomed, celebrated and immersed in unparalleled experiences.”
Borgata is the high grossing casino in Atlantic City, and a big part of MGM’s global portfolio. It appears as if the Asian gaming space has been a hit in South Jersey.
