Borgata Atlantic City has announced the closure of a popular nightlife attraction, Premier Nightclub, which will shutter at the end of the month.

Premier Nightclub was a $14 million project that opened in April 2016. The move to close the operation after nearly 10 years is part of a revamp at Borgata Atlantic City.

Replacement to be announced later

Premier Nightclub is scheduled to close up shop on Aug. 31, right in the middle of Labor Day weekend. However, there does appear to be a plan to fill the space.

Borgata President and CEO Niklas Rytterstrom confirmed that a replacement is imminent.

“We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated team who brought Premier’s energy to life night after night, and to our loyal guests who have played a pivotal role in making the venue one of Atlantic City’s most iconic nightlife destinations.

“As we bid farewell to Premier, we remain committed to evolving the nightlife experience at Borgata, and look forward to sharing what’s next for the space in the months to come.”

Remodeled Borgata is a success so far

Borgata has transformed part of its property and added an upscale Asian gaming space. President and CEO of MGM Resorts International Bill Hornbuckle said on a Q2 2025 earnings call last month that the space is already “driving double-digit GGR growth and outperforming the market by a wide margin since its debut.”

The new space is a 25,000-square-foot area that includes the following amenities:

  • 51 table games,
  • 5 private gaming salons
  • Private bar with rarest liquors from around the world, including Shibui 23 and Yamazaki 18
  • Noodles, a staple at MGM’s resort at the Bellagio

It’s all part of the plan to bring the best customer experience for Borgata customers, Rytterstrom said last month.

“With these best-in-class offerings and amenities, we are once again redefining the pinnacle of high-end gaming in Atlantic City.

“Every detail of the experience has been thoughtfully curated to ensure our guests feel welcomed, celebrated, and immersed in unparalleled experiences.”
