Hard Rock Atlantic City posted record-breaking success in 2024, and it has decided to share the wealth with the casino and hospitality workers who made that possible. It announced on Thursday the distribution of $10 million in bonuses to be shared among its employees. In addition, many team members won a share of $100,000 in cash and prizes.
Hard Rock finished second among Atlantic City casinos in gross revenue in 2024 with $544.9 million. That comes out to a 6.4% year-over-year increase. Only Borgata did better.
Hard Rock International Chairman, Jim Allen, wanted to reward employees, who were instrumental in helping the property set revenue records across the board. He said in a statement:
“2024 was indeed a record-breaking year in many categories for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, and we want to recognize the hard work of team members who made it all possible.
“We set records for overall profit, market share, hotel occupancy, slot win and table games drop. We also had a record breaking year for conventions, food and beverage, entertainment, spa and hotel room sales.”
Hard Rock has improved in every year since opening
Hard Rock is a relatively new casino, which opened during the summer of 2018 in Atlantic City. It has already withstood adversity such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Excluding 2020, the property has increased revenue in every year since 2019, culminating with its $544.9 million performance in 2024. The graph displays the following revenue totals from each year:
- 2019: $324.0 million
- 2021: $432.6 million
- 2022: $492.4 million
- 2023: $512.4 million
- 2024: $544.9 million
George Goldhoff, casino president, also praised employees for their efforts at a Town Hall meeting on Thursday:
“2024 was truly a banner year at Hard Rock Atlantic City, and our team members are the reason for our success. Today’s Town Hall is a celebration of the hard work and dedication of our Hard Rock family and we thank them for their incredible efforts.”
Hard Rock has become one of the premier destination establishments in Atlantic City that offers 2,425 slots, 130 table games, and Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook.
Hard Rock gets off to solid start in 2025
If Hard Rock plans to break another record this year, a fast January was much needed. The property got exactly what it needed.
It generated $38.1 million in gross revenue last month, which is a 2.1% year-over-year increase. The casino does not show any signs of slowing as the spring and summer approach.
Despite the Atlantic City casinos improving revenues from January 2024, online casinos out-paced the retail market for the second time ever last month. However, Jane Bokunewicz, faculty director of the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism (LIGHT) at the Stockton University School of Business, believes Atlantic City is in a good place. She said earlier this month:
“Brick-and-mortar gaming is not being left behind by internet gaming. While internet gaming again surpassed brick-and-mortar for total gaming revenue, brick-and-mortar still realized a year-over-year increase in January (despite harsher winter weather than we’ve seen recently). This is an encouraging sign for the year ahead.”
Hard Rock Atlantic City is hoping to forge ahead and set new records as the months go on.
