Caesars Entertainment is continuing to invest in the iGaming industry, as shown last week when the casino company launched Horseshoe Online Casino in Michigan.

It marked Caesars’ third online casino platform in the state, complementing its existing Caesars Palace Online Casino and Caesars Sportsbook & Casino that were already active.

Why does that matter for us in New Jersey? Because, subject to necessary regulatory approvals, the NJ online casino industry could soon see the launch of Horseshoe.

What they said about Horseshoe’s launch

In a press release, Caesars noted that Horseshoe Online Casino “builds on the legacy of the Horseshoe brand, a leader in providing exceptional gaming experiences since 1951 with a heritage that celebrates online casino players who know what they want.”

Caesars described it as “a cutting-edge” platform that carries “a promise to put the player first,” according to Matt Sunderland, senior vice president and chief iGaming officer for Caesars Digital.

“A brand with such a storied past deserves an online equivalent that pays respect to the legacy it has established in gaming, and that is what we’ve created with Horseshoe Online Casino.

“This launch reinforces our multi-brand online casino strategy by seamlessly bringing another one of our world-class Caesars brands into the palms of players’ hands.”

The company added in the release that it has “plans to expand into other jurisdictions” where Caesars is operational. Of course, that includes New Jersey. What could that look like in the Garden State at Horseshoe Casino NJ?

What NJ online casino players might expect at Horseshoe

In Michigan, the Horseshoe online casino is available on both iOS and Android as well as on desktop, which should also be the case when it goes live in New Jersey.

A multi-lobby navigation layout, modeled after a real-life casino floor, provides users with “a dynamic online casino experience” that features high limit slots, live dealer tables, progressive jackpots, and variations of poker and roulette, among other offerings.

What’s more, the platform features “deeply customizable player promotions” as well as a sleek interface with “near-instant loading times” that the company likens to its “crown jewel,” Caesars Palace Online Casino.

The new online casino boasts its own exclusive Horseshoe-branded games, not to mention the ability for users to earn Caesars Rewards Credits that they can redeem for experiences at any of the 50 Caesars destinations across the country.

Caesars looks to bolster NJ online casino portfolio

As noted earlier, the launch of Horseshoe Online Casino in New Jersey is subject to regulatory approval in the Garden State. While there is no guarantee it will go live in New Jersey, as Caesars indicated, expansion into the industry is on the company’s to-do list.

Caesars has performed well in the world of online casinos. Its Caesars Palace Online Casino NJ platform is a top-five operation in New Jersey of the 30-plus that have reported revenue in 2024.

How would Horseshoe compare?

During an earnings call earlier this year, Eric Heisson, president of Caesars sports and online gambling, said that Caesars Palace is “going to be the flagship app” for the company. As that name resonates more with customers, Heisson added that he “would expect the Horseshoe to perform very strongly, but I don’t think it will command the market share that Caesars has.
