New Jersey Sees Sports Betting Revenue Grow by 85% YoY in December

Sportsbooks in New Jersey reported $116 million in gross revenue last month, bringing the total in 2025 to a whopping $1.18 billion

December was a boon for New Jersey sports betting operators. Gross revenue from sports wagering was $116.3 million, an increase of 85% from the same month a year ago.

In 2025, sportsbooks in the Garden Sate raked in $1.18 billion in gross revenue, up from $1.09 billion in 2024, a 7.5% increase, according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

The state took in $197.5 million last year.

NJ collects over $20M in December

Once again the top dog in New Jersey last month was FanDuel Sportsbook, with a little more than $50 million in gross revenue from sports wagering. That represents a nearly 70% increase over December 2024.

All but $1.1 million of the revenue in December was generated by online operators. With a 19.75% tax rate on online sports wagering, sportsbooks paid $22.8 million to the state in December.

Has FanDuel Sportsbook hit its ceiling in NJ?

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reported that $12.2 billion was wagered on sports in 2025.

FanDuel Sportsbook was far and away the leader in 2025 with $474 million gross wagering revenue. It was followed by DraftKings Sportsbook with $326 million last year. Far back in third was BetMGM Sportsbook with $86 million.

The chasers saw larger growth in 2025 than the chased. DraftKings’ revenue rose by 12.5% and BetMGM’s grew by 22%. FanDuel’s gross revenue was up just 2.3% year-over-year.
