NJ collects over $20M in December
Once again the top dog in New Jersey last month was FanDuel Sportsbook, with a little more than $50 million in gross revenue from sports wagering. That represents a nearly 70% increase over December 2024.
The top three operators last month based on gross revenue:
- FanDuel Sportsbook: $50.2 million
- DraftKings Sportsbook: $34.0 million
- BetMGM Sportsbook: $8.3 million
All but $1.1 million of the revenue in December was generated by online operators. With a 19.75% tax rate on online sports wagering, sportsbooks paid $22.8 million to the state in December.
Has FanDuel Sportsbook hit its ceiling in NJ?
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reported that $12.2 billion was wagered on sports in 2025.
FanDuel Sportsbook was far and away the leader in 2025 with $474 million gross wagering revenue. It was followed by DraftKings Sportsbook with $326 million last year. Far back in third was BetMGM Sportsbook with $86 million.
The chasers saw larger growth in 2025 than the chased. DraftKings’ revenue rose by 12.5% and BetMGM’s grew by 22%. FanDuel’s gross revenue was up just 2.3% year-over-year.
