Sports betting was red hot in New Jersey in June, soaring to a 52% increase in revenue compared to the previous June.

Sportsbooks reported $91.2 million in revenue last month, and just $60.1 million in June 2024.

Through the first six months of 2025, New Jersey sports betting revenue is $552 million, a slight decrease of 3.7% to the $573 million reported for the first half of 2024.

Parlays still popular in June

The popularity of the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Final likely contributed greatly to the success of sports betting operators in June. Total handle was $790.4 million. That includes $755 million from online sportsbook activity, and roughly $35 million from retail sportsbooks in New Jersey.

According to the state, among specific sports, basketball betting led the way in June with $70.6 million in total handle, followed by baseball at $28.4 million.

As is typical, parlay wagers ranked first in total handle at $361 million, or more than 45% of all total handle in June.

ESPN Bet sags, Fanatics surges

In June, FanDuel Sportsbook led the way with $35.8 million in gross revenue, once again topping all competition. Next came rival DraftKings at $24.2 million, Fanatics at $11.9 million, BetMGM at $5.8 million, and bet365 at $4.7 million. These figures are for online sports betting activity only.

Of note is the lagging performance of ESPN Bet, which reported $1.5 million in June. The sportsbook, operated and owned by Penn Entertainment, has not yet carved out a significant portion of the market since it rebranded under the ESPN name last year. In fact, ESPN Bet showed a 7.9% year-over-year decrease in revenue compared to the Barstool brand it was operating under in 2024.

Fanatics continues to show increases as it establishes itself as a top-tier sportsbook. It now comfortably ranks third behind giants DraftKings and FanDuel and is one of only three New Jersey sportsbooks to top $10 million in revenue regularly each month.

FanDuel still lags behind 2024 performance

In spite of its position as the leader among online sports betting operators in the Garden State this year, FanDuel is seeing a dip in revenue. Compared to 2024 through June, FanDuel is 7.6% behind in 2025. That’s a decrease of just over $18 million in revenue at the halfway point of this year compared to last year.

In contrast, DraftKings is up roughly $13 million in revenue this year through June, an improvement of nearly 10% over 2024.

BetMGM and partner Borgata are enjoying a good year, a 17.4% increase in revenue compared to 2024. In addition, bet365 is showing traction in earning more market share. Its $28 million in revenue in 2025 is a 40% increase compared to the previous year.
