For the fifth consecutive month, New Jersey sportsbooks eclipsed the $1 billion mark in sports wagering handle, according to the January report from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Sportsbooks in the state raked in $114.2 million in revenue during in January, about 6% less than the same month in 2025.
FanDuel Sportsbook remains the top sports wagering operator in New Jersey, reporting $45.6 million in revenue last month. Second was DraftKings Sportsbook at $30.6 million, with Fanatics Sportsbook in third place at $10.9 million.
Overall, the state’s operators came in about $8 million below revenue numbers for January 2025.
Sportsbooks enjoy 10% hold in January
Though it lagged behind the frontrunners in January, Fanatics is still showing tremendous growth. In the same month last year, Fanatics reported just $6.7 million in revenue. That means the company saw a 63% year-over-year growth rate in the first month of 2026.
Last month, NJ sportsbooks reported a hold percentage of just over 10%, which is a solid month. Of the overall total handle, only a sliver (about $35 million in total handle of the more than $1 billion) came from retail sportsbooks in New Jersey.
New Jersey collected $23.9 million in tax revenue in January from sports betting.
All gaming in the state during January reached $586.4 million, which included casino activity both at land-based casinos and online casinos.
