The New Jersey online casino market keeps reaching new heights. Online gaming revenue was $246.8 million in May, a new record.

The industry topped the previous record of $243.9 million, which was set in March.

New Jersey online casino operators saw revenue jump 28.5% year-over-year in May, 5% higher than the previous month.

iGaming falls to retail in May

Online casinos have out-paced brick-and-mortar casinos for multiple months in 2025. However, the retail industry pushed back last month, generating $265.3 million in revenue.

The retail vertical is expected to soar throughout the summer months, which could see revenues near $300 million each month. Online platforms would need to see a massive boost in order to compete over the next three months.

As of now, online operators have posted $1.16 billion in revenue this year so far compared to $1.12 billion at retail casinos.

The online vertical is still in a strong place, evidenced by another record-setting month. Revenue totals could grow even more during Q4, when New Jersey sports betting starts to pick up and retail casino revenue routinely falls.

Hard Rock climbs

Hard Rock Bet has made its presence felt in the Garden State. The operator has made several enhancements to its platform lately.

Those have been paying off, as Hard Rock produced $13.1 million in May. It has continued to ascend over the last few months:

  • March: $11.8 million
  • April: $11.5 million
  • May: $13.1 million

The company will soon have nearly 3,000 games in its portfolio after partnering with Bragg Gaming last week. It celebrated 2,500 games earlier this year.

Fanatics cracks top 10 again

Despite Fanatics Casino being a new platform, the operator has hit the ground running in the Garden State. Fanatics generated $6.2 million in revenue last month, which placed it ninth.

It’s the second straight month Fanatics has finished in the top 10. However, in May, the company took a slight step back from April, when it recorded $7.4 million.

Despite the small setback, Fanatics has now proven itself to be a top-10 operator in New Jersey, where it should continue to stay for the months ahead.
